CLOGGING

Clogging classes offer a fast-paced, high-energy dance experience. From warm-ups to floor work, you'll learn the energetic buck style of clogging and enjoy dancing to fun music choices. Students must be at least 5 years old to join these classes.

CREATIVE MOVEMENT

No matter your age or ability level, we have classes tailored just for you. Our youngest dancers, aged two and up, can explore their creativity and coordination in our popular Creative Movement class. It's a stress-free and fun-filled 45 minutes that introduces the magic of ballet, rhythm, coordination, strength, and even tumbling to our youngest dancers.

Tap classes at DanZQuest are a rhythmic journey of individual and partner learning. From mastering classic tap sounds to learning different tap and music styles, our structured classes ensure that each student progresses and builds upon their skills.

TAP

JAZZ

In our jazz classes, we focus on body placement, flexibility, and core strength through a warm-up and stretching routine. Leaps, jumps, and turns are taught, enhancing the dancer's ability to isolate the body and improve overall flexibility.

HIP-HOP

Let your fun side shine in our hip-hop classes, where you'll learn the coolest moves inspired by today's dancers. Discover your unique style as you explore the energetic and always-appropriate world of hip-hop. (Please note that students must be at least 4 years old to participate.)

CONTEMPORARY

For those looking for a fusion of ballet and jazz, our contemporary classes are a perfect fit. These classes focus on blending the two styles while expressing the emotion of lyrics through movement.

Ballet Class

At the heart of all dance styles lies ballet, and at DanZQuest, we emphasize its importance. Our ballet classes incorporate stretching, conditioning, positions, body placement, barre work, and the development of grace and poise. It serves as the foundation for all other dance forms.

WHAT TO EXPECT YOUR FIRST WEEK AT DANCE

  1. The First Weeks: During the initial two weeks of dance, the studio may be bustling with activity as students and parents settle into their new routines. Please bear with us as we accommodate everyone's needs and make any necessary adjustments to class schedules. Rest assured, things will settle down soon, and you'll find your rhythm within our vibrant dance community.

  2. Class Minimums: To provide the best learning environment, we require a minimum of four students per class. Occasionally, class times may need to be adjusted based on enrollment numbers. We appreciate your patience as we ensure that each student is placed in the appropriate class and parents adjust to their new dance schedule for the year.

  3. Getting Comfortable: The first few weeks of dance are all about getting comfortable. It's a review period, similar to starting a new school year, where students familiarize themselves with their classes and teachers. This helps ensure that everyone feels at ease and allows our teachers to assess whether students are in the correct class for their skill level.

  4. Shoe Changes: Our dedicated teachers will assist dancers in changing their shoes during class. To help us keep things organized, please label your child's shoes and ensure that all other shoes are stored in their dance bag, which they should bring with them. For combo classes (tap/jazz, tap/ballet, tap/creative movement), students should have their tap shoes on each week when entering the class.

  5. Finding the Right Class: If, for any reason, a student is placed in a class that isn't the best fit for them, there's no need to worry. We are committed to finding the right class where they can thrive and excel. Our goal is to ensure that each dancer is in an environment that nurtures their growth and passion for dance.

  6. Easing Anxiety: It's completely normal for younger dancers to experience some anxiety during the first few weeks of class. Our teachers are experienced in handling this and are trained to help children quickly adapt and feel at ease. Rest assured that your child's emotional well-being is our priority, and we'll do everything we can to make their dance experience a positive one.

  7. Safety First: We kindly ask all parents to be vigilant in watching out for children, especially in the parking area. While we strive to create a safe environment, parking can be a concern, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring everyone's well-being.

  8. Being On Time: Please make every effort to arrive on time for classes. While our teachers will happily accommodate late arrivals, it can be disruptive to the flow of the class. Additionally, we encourage students to use the restroom before class to minimize interruptions.

  9. Late Arrival or Early Departure: If you happen to be running late, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur. In such cases, we kindly request that you call the studio to inform us. However, please be present to pick up your child promptly when their class concludes. Please note that you do not have to stay in the lobby during your child's class.

  10. Support and Assistance: We are here to support you throughout your dance experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly front desk secretary. Our goal at DanZQuest is to ensure that your dance journey is positive, rewarding, and filled with joyful memories.
